Dhritionary

Dhriti, my daughter, has a very cute way of pronouncing things. Since she has started some time back, we are having a hard time trying to comprehend the speed at which she starts using new words.

I have compiled a few of the words that she blabbers along with the way it is pronounced. I'm calling this "Dhritionary" and hope to update it on a periodic basis.

  • Kaathees – Cockroach. If you want to scare her, this is the right word.
  • Bisss – Tooth brush. You cant dare to take this away from her.
  • Baathil – Water bottle. Recently she has improvised this into a sentence – “Baathil iyyi ammmmaaa”
  • Chapaathi – Anything edible that’s flat and round. Even the omelet falls under this category
  • Duppatiii – Her blanket. She now has two of them now and nobody can dare so much as to even touch them
  • Shibaaa – Shiva. Yeah, that’s me. She has started to call me by the name.
  • Sidisha - Sirisha
  • Oneen – Onion. She loved to play with them in the kitchen
  • Potatoooo – The extra “O” s bring out a very cute effect.
  • Cabeees – Cabbage.

  • Thelvi – Selvi. That’s the Tamil serial she loves the most on Sun TV because they show elephants at the start of the episodes
  • Tin Tin – Lift. That’s the sound made when the doors open in our apartments.
  • Paam – Pram. She loves all the prams in the world except hers.
  • Bek – Bike. That’s her bike
  • Patthaav – Wet floor. She took this from our shouts that she will fall down if she ran on the wet floor. So now the wet floor became “Patthaav”
  • Uff Uff – Hot. Anything hot is Uff Uff.
  • Kaam – Spicy. Anything spicy is Kaam.
  • Thaatha – KFC Logo. Anybody old is Thaatha but she loves the KFC colonel the most

I dont know why I got this sudden urge to start blogging. I guess it has been at the back of my head for some time. Lets see how long I can sustain this interest.

Spent some time deciding between LJ and Blogger. Finally, the "google" factor made me go for Blogger.

So blogger world, here I come.....
